2 inches of rain in the rain gauge from Tuesday to Wednesday was welcome...sort of. My yard and garden are quite happy with the moisture, and even with 6 inches in the past 2 weeks there's still no water standing anywhere. Except on the RC track in Mandan, that is. Since the track is covered in clay, it never really soaks in, just puddles up. Last week we put carpet over the really gooshy mud so we could drive on it, this week we have puddles in the carpet! Yay! It's time for the first big off-road race this Saturday. We've had several moto-x racers join the group to run the [comparably] less expensive radio control trucks and buggies. Remember playing in the sand or dirt as a kid? Scratching out roads to drive your Matchbox or Tonka trucks over? The RC track in mandan is finally ready to drive on, and boy did I feel like a big kid working on it. We got to use big shovels, and the tractor didn't require me to make sounds with my lips (bbbrppp, mmmmm, brrrppp) but the rest of it was just like childhood.
